STEM Tales - fairy tale STEM Activities
bit.ly/STEMfairytales
STEM activities / challenges with STEM tales! STEM tales are a series of STEM challenges that are accessible for your youngest budding engineers; they use a fairy tale that your students are likely already familiar with. By adding in a story element, those students that might typically shy away from STEM activities may find joy in transporting themselves into a story to solve a problem. Please see the individual files for previews of each activity. Included in this bundle are the following 3 STEM Tales:

**Please note**
Because this activity involves shooting an "arrow" (which can be an unsharpened pencil or a cotton swab), please be sure that you can section off a safe shooting range. Large appliance boxes are excellent for this, as they contain the testing portion. Another option is to use it at the end of your school year and test out the bows at field day! I have successfully used this activity in a small classroom of kids in grades 1-3, but we had an advance discussion about safety precautions, as well as a one-archer-at-a-time policy.
