Al-Adiyat or The War Horses which run swiftly (Arabic: العاديات, al-ʿādiyāt, also known as "The Courser, The Chargers") is the 100th chapter (sūrah) of the Qur'an, with 11 āyāt or verses. Regarding the timing and contextual background of the revelation (asbāb al-nuzūl), it is an earlier "Meccan surah", which means it is believed to have been revealed in Mecca, rather than later in Medina.
সূরা আল-আদিয়াত (আরবি: سورة العاديات) মুসলমানদের ধর্মীয় গ্রন্থ কুরআনের ১০০ তম সূরা, এর আয়াতের সংখ্যা ১১টি, এর রূকুর সংখ্যা ১টি এবং ৩০ পারা। আ'দিয়াত সূরাটি মক্কায় অবতীর্ণ হয়েছে। আল-আদিয়াত এর বাংলা অর্থ হল অভিযানকারী।
অবতীর্ণ হওয়ার সময় ও স্থান
এই সূরাটির মক্কী বা মাদানী হওয়ার ব্যাপারে মতভেদ রয়েছে। আবদুল্লাহ ইবনে মাসউদ, জাবের, হাসান বসরী, ইকরামা ও আতা বলেন, এটি মক্কী সূরা। আনাস ইবনে মালিক ও কাতাদাহ একে মাদানী সূরা বলেন। অন্যদিকে ইবনে আব্বাস থেকে দুই ধরনের মত উদ্ধৃত হয়েছে। তাঁর একটি মত হচ্ছে এটি মক্কী সূরা এবং অন্য একটি বক্তব্যে তিনি একে মাদানী সূরা বলে উল্লেখ করেছেন। কিন্তু সূরার বক্তব্য ও বর্ণনাভঙ্গী পরিষ্কারভাবে জানিয়ে দিচ্ছে যে, এটি কেবল মক্কী সূরাই নয় বরং মক্কী যুগের প্রথম দিকে নাযিল হয়।
