Rapper Cassidy sat down with DJ Vlad to talk about the current rap state, getting respect from people's top 5 rappers, and his previous problems with Meek Mill.

With trap music taking over Hip-Hop on a mainstream level, Cassidy believes this form of music should receive a genre. "Majority of the rappers that got hit records nowadays, I can't really understand 100% of what they [are] sayin'." The Philly spitter said, "I feel as though they should be able to do music. It shouldn't be considered rap or Hip-Hop."

The "Hotel" rapper says he defined himself as the epitome and true definition of Hip-Hop who has worked along with the industry's top-rated rappers."I was calling myself 'Mr. Hip-Hop' for a minute because I feel as though I am that." The rapper added, "No disrespect, a lot of the people they put in their top 5, I done been in the studio with them, guys. I done worked with them guys—Didn't get a chance to work with Pac and Biggie, that was like before me—but the other dudes, I done worked with them, been in the studio with them. I [have] seen the respect that they gave to me. I [have] seen me come up with the ideas and they take it like it's hot."

Further into the interview, Cassidy also touches on his brief beef with Meek Mill and his thoughts on Joe Budden's diss tracks aimed at Drake. Watch the full interview above.
