This is the long version of my argument with Dr. David Shormann, and it shows why he would be no good on a radio show. He was all over the place, constantly interrupting everything said, changing the subject to irrelevant topics, trying to gain superiority in whatever topic he could, and just being completely unreasonable and generally objectionable. He was so obnoxious in fact, that when I finally broke away from him, I turned to Eric Hovind and admitted that even he was neither as odious nor as dishonest as David Shormann.

Just to clarity:
(1a) A presuppositionalist is one who engages in or endorses Presuppositional apologetics. Opponants of presuppositionalism are NOT presuppositionalists.
(1b) According to Wikipedia, a 'presupposition' is an implicit assumption about the world or background belief relating to an utterance whose truth is taken for granted in discourse. Examples of presuppositions include:
Jane no longer writes fiction.
Presupposition: Jane once wrote fiction.
Have you stopped eating meat?
Presupposition: you had once eaten meat.
Have you talked to Hans?
Presupposition: Hans exists.

I have no such presuppositions.


One might argue how I must 'presuppose' that reality is real, but I do not. Reality is real by definition. Besides, the laws of reality would still apply to us even if our existence were an illusion, such as in a dream of Brahma, or a computer-enhanced hallucination like the Matrix. Thus reality must be accepted as real if we are to make sense out of anything.

Shormann uses presuppositions; I do not. That's why he would sooner question the reality of reality itself than doubt his deity.


(2a) Reason: The ability to reason, of being capable of reason, of being reasonable, and able to be reasoned with -are all juxtoposed against the blind closed-mindedness of faith-based assertions.
(2b) To be rational and to think rationally, to base one's postulations on sound logic and evidence rather than subjective impressions or emotional attachments.

Shormann has rejected reason as a necessary requirement of presuppositionalism; I do not deny reason; I am an advocate of reason. That's why I had VIP status at the Reason Rally.


(3) Magic: (a) the use of means (as charms or spells) believed to have supernatural power over natural forces. (b) magic rites [blessings] or incantations [speaking anything into existence] (c) an extraordinary power or influence seemingly from a supernatural source, such as witch, wizard, devil, or deity.

David Shormann obviously believes in magic where I clearly do not.


(4) The Nazis were mostly Christian and almost exclusively creationist. Absolutely all the arguments I have ever seen from any of theirs or their successor's propaganda stem from creationist assumptions and religious motivations rather than racial knowledge. Hitler even said so himself.

And finally, I started posting to Freethought Blogs because PZ invited me there, and I consider him a friend. I continue blogging there because a lot of people have strange opinions against that forum, and I find their woefully wrong generalizations personally amusing.
