قال تعالى : (وَاسْأَلْهُمْ عَنِ الْقَرْيَةِ الَّتِي كَانَتْ حَاضِرَةَ الْبَحْرِ إِذْ يَعْدُونَ فِي السَّبْتِ إِذْ تَأْتِيهِمْ حِيتَانُهُمْ يَوْمَ سَبْتِهِمْ شُرَّعًا وَيَوْمَ لَا يَسْبِتُونَ ۙ لَا تَأْتِيهِمْ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ نَبْلُوهُم بِمَا كَانُوا يَفْسُقُونَ (163) وَإِذْ قَالَتْ أُمَّةٌ مِّنْهُمْ لِمَ تَعِظُونَ قَوْمًا ۙ اللَّهُ مُهْلِكُهُمْ أَوْ مُعَذِّبُهُمْ عَذَابًا شَدِيدًا ۖ قَالُوا مَعْذِرَةً إِلَىٰ رَبِّكُمْ وَلَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَّقُونَ (164) فَلَمَّا نَسُوا مَا ذُكِّرُوا بِهِ أَنجَيْنَا الَّذِينَ يَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ السُّوءِ وَأَخَذْنَا الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا بِعَذَابٍ بَئِيسٍ بِمَا كَانُوا يَفْسُقُونَ (165) فَلَمَّا عَتَوْا عَن مَّا نُهُوا عَنْهُ قُلْنَا لَهُمْ كُونُوا قِرَدَةً خَاسِئِينَ (166) وَإِذْ تَأَذَّنَ رَبُّكَ لَيَبْعَثَنَّ عَلَيْهِمْ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ مَن يَسُومُهُمْ سُوءَ الْعَذَابِ ۗ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَسَرِيعُ الْعِقَابِ ۖ وَإِنَّهُ لَغَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ (167))[الأعراف:163 - 167].
تلخيص القصة :
هذه القرية كان يعيش فيها قوم من بني إسرائيل في عصر موسى عليه السلام. وهذه القصة ذكرت في سورة الأعراف .
أمر الله بني إسرائيل بتعظيم يوم الجمعة وترك العمل فيه والالتجاء إلى العبادة لكن اليهود رفضوا يوم الجمعة واختلفوا فيه . واختاروا يوم السبت للعبادة ، قال تعالى : ( إنما جُعل السبت على الذين اختلفوا فيه ) . فأصبح يوم السبت يوم عبادة فقط وحرم الله فيه العمل وكان صيد السمك هو عمل أهل هذه القرية .
وعقابا من الله لهم لعنادهم جعل السمك وفيرا يوم السبت حتى أنه يظهر على الشواطئ . أما باقي أيام الأسبوع فكانوا لايجدون سمكة واحدة . وفي أحد أيام الجمعة وضع بعضهم شباكا على الشاطئ بحيث تحجز الأسماك ليصطادوها يوم الأحد . فتعدوا أمر ربهم وعصوه فانقسم القوم إلى ثلاث فرق :
1- الفرقة الأولى : تعدت أمر ربها واصطادت يوم السبت
2- الفرقة الثانية : اتجهت إلى النصح والإرشاد وأمر الظالمين بالعودة إلى أمر ربهم وترك معصيته
3- الفرقة الثالثة : لم تعص الله ولكنها سكتت عن النصح والدعوة
وعندما سئم المؤمنون من عناد العاصين وعدم عدولهم عن العصيان هجروهم و بنوا حاجزا بينهم وبين هؤلاء ليتفرغوا للعبادة . فاستمر العاصون في عصيانهم و اتجهوا إلى الاصطياد يوم السبت مباشرة وتركوا العبادة فكان عقابهم شديدا .
وفي يوم من الأيام أراد الصالحون معرفة ماذا فعل الاخرون فتسلقوا الحاجز أو فتحوا فيه بابا ودخلوا عليهم ...فماذا رأو ؟؟
لم يروا سوى قرودا تجوب المكان ، فأيقنوا أن هؤلاء هم أصحابهم وعلموا بالعقاب الشديد الذي حل بهم ، وكانو يربتون على كتف هؤلاء القرود ويقولون : ألم ننهكم عن العصيان ؟ فيهزون رؤوسهم وهم لا يستطيعون الكلام ..
