The India vs Pakistan 3rd Test in 2004, which was held at Rawalpindi, was an intense and highly anticipated match. This Test match took place from April 13th to April 17th, 2004.

Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium provided the stage for this exciting clash between the arch-rivals in the longest format of the game. The two teams battled it out over the course of five days to determine the ultimate winner.

India, led by captain Sourav Ganguly, won the toss and elected to bat first. They posted a formidable total of 600 runs in their first innings, with remarkable contributions from Rahul Dravid, who scored a magnificent double century (270 runs), his solid batting performance put India in a commanding position.

In response, Pakistan's innings got off to a shaky start, losing quick wickets. However, their middle-order batsman, Inzamam-ul-Haq, played a remarkable knock, scoring an unbeaten 184 runs to lead the fightback. Despite his efforts, Pakistan could only manage 376 runs in their first innings.

With a substantial lead of 224 runs wicket-keeper Parthiv Patel contributed a valuable half-century (67 runs). India set a target of 420 runs for Pakistan to win the match.

Chasing a challenging target, Pakistan faced a daunting task. They lost wickets at regular intervals, and none of their batsmen were able to build a substantial partnership. Anil Kumble was the pick of the Indian bowlers, claiming a remarkable 6-wicket haul. Pakistan was eventually bowled out for 245 runs, giving India a comprehensive victory by 131 runs.

This Test match will be remembered for Rahul Dravid's outstanding performance with the bat, as he played a crucial role in India's triumph. It was also a significant win for the Indian cricket team, as they clinched the three-match Test series 2-1, with this victory in Rawalpindi being the decisive match.

Overall, the India vs Pakistan 3rd Test 2004 in Rawalpindi provided cricket fans with a thrilling contest and showcased some exceptional individual performances from both sides.
