The DreamCloud is a new bed in a box hybrid mattress on the market and I'm excited to get my first look at it! I'm really looking forward to testing it out, but first I have to let it decompress and get it set up on the frame. So let's get going!

Construction

At 15 inches tall the DreamCloud has one of the highest profiles of any "bed in a box" mattress I've seen. The mattress uses a combination of foam and coil layers to create a luxurious feel.

Cover - The cover of the DreamCloud is a soft material made of a combination of polyester and cashmere. It's also quilted with foam to provide some initial pressure relief while lying on the mattress

Comfort - Below the cover are a few layers of foam that are designed to provide pressure relief and comfort. On top there is a soft layer of poly foam that has a quick response to pressure to allow you to sink in, but not feel stuck. Below that is a layer of latex foam, a material known for providing bounce and for its ability to dissipate heat. Finally there is another layer of poly foam that acts as a bit of a transition layer between the softer layers up top to support center below.

Support - The support center of the mattress is made of a pocketed coil system that is zoned to provide extra support where it's needed. Pocketed coils also provide bounce to the mattress and since they are individually wrapped they are better at motion isolation than traditional innerspring mattresses. There is also a layer of high density poly foam wrapped around the pocketed coil system to provide edge support to the dreamcloud.

Initial Thoughts

Value - Even with luxury materials and strong construction the DreamCloud comes in at a competitive price in the market. There is also a lifetime warranty on the DreamCloud, meaning it's built to last.

Luxury Feel - The combination of soft foams and supportive coils as well as the cashmere cover give the DreamCloud a luxury feel.

BACK TO 1986 — Chasing the 80s Horizon 🌅 Nostalgic • Chillsynth • 80s Dreamwave Mix.
(This scene captures the vibrant soul of Route 66 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The heart of the photo is the De Anza Motor Lodge on Central Avenue, its iconic triangular sign standing tall against the brilliant desert sky. Below, the asphalt is alive with the hum of chrome-bumpered cruisers, including a stunning turquoise Chevy, all framed by the jagged silhouette of the Sandia Mountains in the distance. This was the 'Neon Oasis,' a place where weary travelers found refuge in the glow of roadside architecture and Southwestern hospitality.

Where it stands today:
If you were to stand at 4301 Central Ave NE today, the world looks much different. The bustling 'Motor Lodge' era has faded. For years, the De Anza sat silent and weathered, a ghost of its former glory. However, recent years have seen a transformation: the site has been redeveloped into the De Anza Design District, a modern apartment and mixed-use complex. While the original neon hum is gone, the historic sign and parts of the original structure were preserved, serving as a quiet tribute to the days when Albuquerque was the proud heartbeat of the American West.

The landscape is dominated by the iconic red-and-white Texaco star and the familiar silhouette of Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC). The road is filled with vintage sedans and family station wagons, reflecting the pre-digital era's car-centric lifestyle. Details like the roadside payphone and towering overhead traffic signals emphasize a world just before the dawn of the smartphone.

Decades later, this specific corridor of Highway 78 has undergone significant transformation. While it remains a vital artery for Metro Atlanta traffic, the landscape is now more densely developed. The vintage signage has been replaced by modern branding, and much of is now framed by larger commercial complexes and updated infrastructure.
