El Rey León. Santiago, Chile: musical hecho por vecinos: "Hacemos una obra de calidad con las reglas del mundo amateur"


Este evento agoto todas las entradas y por primera vez se amplió la cantidad de funciones, de tres fechas a cinco, debido al éxito en la venta de boletos que se agotaron en nueve horas.

Su elenco está compuesto únicamente por voluntarios de distintas edades, que fueron elegidos por medio de un casting a principios de año.

La iniciativa es de la comuna de Vitacura, que desde hace cinco años presenta en estas fechas un musical diferente en las Casas de Lo Matta. Sin embargo, la convocatoria está abierta para todo aquel que quiera participar.

Este año la apuesta convocó a más de 650 personas que participaron del casting que se hizo en enero. De ellos, 130 fueron seleccionados para participar en un trabajo "arduo" a partir de abril. Fueron 9 meses en los que se juntaban dos veces a la semana a ensayar por más de dos horas.

En esta versión, la obra elegida fue "El Rey León", y fue realizada al más puro estilo de Broadway, con las mismas canciones pero adaptadas al español por los organizadores.

La puesta en escena es la gran novedad en esta muestra, en la que destacan especialmente los disfraces (algunos de los cuales fueron hechos por apoderados del Colegio Puerto Varas de la Región de los Lagos, para un musical que se estrenó años atrás en el Teatro del Lago) de todos los participantes, la escenografía, el maquillaje.
