Northolt Heatwave

RAF Northolt certainly played its part during the short heatwave of July 2022. It hosted an Airbus A400M [ZM403] while RAF Brize Norton was closed due to surface degradation caused by the heat. The following day, a couple of airfield fire crews from Northolt volunteered to help the London Fire Brigade tackle a serious grass fire nearby. The London Fire Brigade were extremely stretched that afternoon, so I would imagine the help from the RAF crews was greatly appreciated.

Probably the first time one of the MoDs new Oshkosh Strikers has actually attended a "shout" outside of a military facility.
